Just unfair

Thomson played well
Hearts 0-2 Caley

It’s another Saturday when I’m thinking about what could have been. What if Hearts had played fantastic and beaten Inverness? What if Aberdeen and Hibs drew? So many questions that once again are left unanswered as we hoped these results would happen. What now? Well, we’re still in the Scottish Cup and we’ve got the hardest draw we could have got. Great.

On to the game then, which saw another controversial day for Hearts (when isn’t there one?) due to the fact that the SPL decided to stage the match as planned despite Hearts having to field players who were either making their debut for the club at the age of 17-19 or playing players like Janzcyk and Pereira who haven’t featured since September- October.

The reason for the absentees was the flu that has been going round Tynecastle these days. This virus ruled out key players like big Elvis and Robbie Neilson. Not to mention absences to Paul Hartley and Miko because of another SPL HOWLER.

Barry Wilson and former Hibs defender Daren Dods were the goal scorers on a day which really didn’t go to the Hearts. Craig Brewster got his men up for it right from the start and Caley looked good in the air and on the attack. Hearts were playing with a lot of spirit though and almost took the lead on the first minute when Lee Miller made a good run to cross for Janczyk only for the midfielder to miss a sitter.

Both teams contested evenly in the first half but it finished goalless at the break. The second half then started in brighter fashion. For Caley . A Ritchie Hart free-kick was swung in only for that man Daren Dods to head it in. 1-0.

This made Hearts REALLY up the tempo as the Hammer was brought on along with Pereira. Hearts now had six strikers on and no midfielders. Impressive. Then disaster struck when Craig Gordon fouled Barry Wilson. It was a penalty and the former Livingston made no mistake from the spot. Hearts fans left, tearing their hair out; trying to remember the famous results against Basle and Bordeaux and Celtic we’ve witnessed in the past three glorious seasons. (Maybe not this season so glorious)
