Celtic eventually shared the points with Hearts thanks to Stephen McManus' late goal after earlier falling behind to an Andrew Driver goal and being outplayed for most of the first half.

Celtic will view this result as a point gained and it kept them four points ahead of Rangers at the top of the League.

Hearts maintained their unbeaten run over the last six games and more than deserved a point for their efforts.

The pace of Driver on the left flank troubled Celtic all afternoon and it took a great tackle by Paul Hartley to deny the Hearts winger.

Marius Zaliukas fired a 25-yard shot just wide before the visitors took the lead.

Laryea Kingston twice beat Scott Brown on the right flank and his miscued shot found its way to Driver who chipped the ball over keeper Artur Boruc from close range.

Another Kingston pass then found Christian Nade whose shot on the turn was parried away by Boruc.

Shaun Maloney limped off on the half-hour mark to be replaced by Georgios Samaras but still Celtic could not find any rhythm.

Andreas Hinkel and Gary Caldwell clashed going for the same ball which allowed Driver to race through before testing Boruc with an angled drive.

Celtic did not have one shot on target in the first half and indeed it took until the 70th minute for the home side to win their first corner. Lee Naylor at least hit the target with his shot which was easily gathered by Hearts keeper Janos Balogh.

Celtic hit Hearts with an aerial bombardment which Christophe Berra and Zaliukas coped well with but the tactic finally paid off when Shunsuke Nakamura's cross was headed back across goal by Samaras for McManus to fire home from six yards.

The home team threw everything at Hearts in search of a winner but, other than a snap-shot from Scott McDonald which went wide, Hearts were untroubled.
