Have you seen our Lithuanian Flair?!!

First of all, what a performance against Killie! I think the highlight of the match had to be the performances of Cesnauskis and Mikoliunas who really excelled and added that extra width and flair Hearts have been CRYING out for.

It was a professional performance from the back as well, young Wallace scored a sensational goal and Neilson and Webster were immense. The only downside to our entry to the quarter final was that big Elvis will miss it. A home tie against Livi shouldn’t be too much of a problem though.

So our season has fanned out in fantastic fashion to what was expected 2 months ago when the Romanov takeover was in limbo and the teams performances were slipping. This is in contrast to the fantastic form which has only seen us lose once in 2005. Robbo and the backroom staff should be congratulated on a job well done.

So, on to the new signings; not just the Lithuanians. Lee Miller has been fantastic since joining us from Bristol City and it has delighted fans that Vladimir Romanov has boosted Robbo with the news that the funds are there to make it a permanent transfer.

Mark Burchill and Hjalmer Thorarinsson have both made an instant impression since joining in January. Hjalmer arrived almost unnoticed but has now proved he’s more than ready for the physical and fast aspects of the SPL life. Burchill is yet to start for Hearts but has already scored against Motherwell. With this adding to excellent results and key player Paul Hartley staying, January was a very good month for the Hearts.

Deividas Cesnauskis was fantastic against Kilmarnock and proved to really add width and skill to the right wing position. I believe already he will be a better player than Phil Stamp on the right hand side of midfield. Saulius Mikoliunas- well what can I say that hasn’t been said already! The guy is utter class and his dribbling is superb. Hopefully Robbo will see fit to keep him, all though I don’t see any reason why not to keep him.

All in all, a fantastic two months in the history of Hearts. Hopefully now we can over take the over-rated H*bs!
