Bruno Aguiar has joined former Hearts team mate Christos Karipidas at Cyprioit club Omonia Nicosia in a three year deal.

The Portuguese star turned his back on the Tynecastle clubs offer of a new contract. Rangers and Celtic both noted an interest in the player and although Aguiar was interested in a move to either of the Old Firm, the midfielder opted to head off to Cyprus.

Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo will now meet with club owner Vladimir Romanov to discuss transfer targets ahead of the Europa League campaign. Possible replacements for Aguiar could arrive in the shape of hearts legend Paul Hartley from Celtic or Denes Rosa who spent the last six months at city rivals Hibs.
