Stewart to be Hearts captain.

Michael Stewart is favourite to be named as the new captain of Hearts following the departure of Robbie Neilson to Leicester.

The self confessed Jambo has established himself as a fans favourite in his second spell at the Tynecastle club and has been touted by some for a possible Scotland call up in the near future.

If Hearts do sign Paul Hartley from Celtic, however, then the international midfielder would be seen as the ideal candidate to lead the team on the pitch, with Stewart his deputy. Hartley has admitted that Hearts have shown an interest in taking him back to Tynecastle, but he is mulling over offers from Greece as well.
