Romanov loses plot and blasts keeper Banks

Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov marched into the away dressing room at Ibrox on Saturday and began lambasting goalkeeper Steve Banks in front of a bemused Hearts squad, according to the Scotsman.

Banks has proved himself to be a reliable, professional and popular team member since replacing Craig Gordon as the No1 last year following Gordon's move to Sunderland.

Romanov reportedly declared that Banks was "untrustworthy just like Pressley and Webster" and has said he will not play for the club again.

The news of chaos yet again sweeping through Tynecastle will be a blow to fans who had hoped this kind of madness was behind the club.

Banks was dropped for Saturday's match against Rangers and was replaced by youngster Jamie McDonald as Hearts were defeated 2-0 at Ibrox.
