| Jim Jefferies was having none of the accusations flying around emanating from Peter Houston. Jefferies Dundee United counterpart claimed that Hearts played only route-one football during Sunday's 1-1 draw between the clubs. Houston suggested that long balls to burly striker Kevin Kyle at Tynecastle were the only threat to the visitors who took a point after David Templeton's opener was cancelled out by Morgaro Gomis' 85th-minute wonder goal. Jefferies said: "That's the pot calling the kettle black because they were only effective when they thumped it up to Jon Daly. I thought our movement was good and we passed the ball. Long balls weren't our tactics but we were dangerous because Kyle is very good in the air and he puts people under pressure. But we didn't play long balls, we passed it around and he was useful on the deck too. The only time United were a threat was when they went direct through Daly and fed off second balls. They did that quite well but I don't agree with Housty - it's a bit of the pot calling the kettle black." |
