Obua injury not as bad as painted

Jim Jefferies has moved to quell fears that David Obua has suffered a serious groin injury. The Ugandan ace reported for duty with his national squad for the African Nations Cup qualifier against Kenya but will not be involved in Nairobi having suffered the problem in the defeat by Rangers at Tynecastle on Saturday.

A Ugandan website claimed an MRI scan had shown "serious damage", but Jefferies said: "David had the scan at the start of the week before he joined up with his international team-mates. It's not a big problem and there certainly isn't any serious damage. He had to report to the Ugandan training camp but I don't think he'll play in the match against Kenya. At the moment he's a doubt for our game at Aberdeen but we'll see how he is when he gets back and we'll take things from there."
