Need the three points

Rudi Skacel and Ruben Palazuelos are available for selection again as Hearts take on St Mirren at Tynecastle today. Skacel will play despite an Achilles problem and Palazuelos is available after serving a two-game suspension. Lee Wallace looks poised to shake off his ankle problem and feature at left-back again, but Suso Santana (knee) is a major doubt and Kevin Kyle underwent double hernia surgery this week and remains out alongside Darren Barr and Calum Elliot.

Jim Jefferies hopes Hearts can reclaim the momentum in their bid to clinch third place in the SPL with a win over St Mirren. Hearts have picked up one point from a possible nine and lost to Kilmarnock and Dundee United in their last two games. Hearts lie 12 points ahead of fourth-placed United, albeit having played a game more, as they fight to be the best of the rest.

Jefferies said: "The position we're in is a fantastic position, these players have done fantastically well. I've said all season somewhere there will be a blip. That's the bit we've got to try and get over and the only way to do that is by getting a result. That's why tomorrow's game becomes huge. They expect us to win every game and clinch third place as quickly as possible. That's fine, but football tells you that doesn't happen. We've put ourselves in a great position - we've got to see it to the line. Don't make the mistake that if we get this place clinched we'll just sit back and pick up cigars - we're going to go right until the end of the season. It might mean that I can make some decisions to give a couple of the younger boys a game but that will not stop us wanting to go out to win every game.''
