Nade's glass is half full!

Christian Nade has set out his stall for the new season by insisting Hearts are good enough to win the SPL!

The striker, who will be battling the bulge just as much as he will be battling defenders next term, has insisted that the Jambo's have the potential to be crowned champions of Scotland.

This is a bold claim. Here's why.

1) Hearts were third well behind Celtic and Rangers last season. Although the Old Firm pair haven't really strengthened their squad, they'll still have too much depth to be overtaken by another team.

2) Pre season hasn't gone to plan for Hearts. It's not been a roaring success and although you can't look too much into friendlies, they have shown that we need to toughen up our defence.

3) We need a striker. Or two. Nade obviously has a big heart, but he's also got a big appetite. Calum Elliott and Andy Driver are trying to shake off knocks and our top scorer last season, Bruno, is away. And he was a midfielder. We need a hit man like Robbo, someone who does nothing in a gme but scores tap in's from six yards out.

4) The new stars aren't quite stars. Hopefully they'll gel and produce the goods when the season gets underway next weekend. Sorry, next Monday night for us..!

Maybe Nade will be right, maybe we will
Win the league but if we do the rest of the teams will have to be pretty awful.

What's our thought? Third place is a must, a decent cup run is a very real possibility, and defeat of Dynamo Zagreb on our way to the Europa League is something we can do. Throw in victories over the deluded Hibs mob and this could well be the season to remember!

Buckle up, it's going to be bumpy!

Meanwhile, Dynamo Zagreb star Pedro Morales has written off Hearts chances off progressing in the Europa League.

The Chilean is keen to take revenge after his sides Champions League exploits ended at the hands of Red Bull Salzburg.

Morales has said it would be a disaster if his side go out to Hearts in Europe at this stage.

Get ready for disappointment Pedro!
