Malofeev to return to Hearts

Eduard Malofeev is ready to be confirmed part of the Hearts coaching setup for the coming season.

Although initially coming over to 'help out' with the pre-season training, Malofeev took charge in the dugout for yesterdays 2-1 deafeat to Ukranian no marks FC Tavriya.

The result means the Russian still hasn't won a single match he's been involved with at Hearts!

It is understood Vladimir Romanov is ready to keep Malofeev at the club to help out with a variety of duties, including team selection, training and recruitment. Although Steven Frail and Anatoly Korobochka are set to stay in their current roles beyond the start of the season, it is thought any incoming manager/Head Coach would be working closely with Malofeev in the Hearts setup.

Both Romanov and
Malofeev have previously spoken about their desire to continue their working relationship, hence the Russian staying within the "pyramid" even after his disasterous first spell in Gorgie.

Malofeev summed up the 2-1 defeat by saying "Football is football. The result is not important but what is important is that the players arrive at the next game in a good condition".

"We don't know whats happening but I am at Hearts now and I expect to be here in the future."

The news will come as a sickner to Jambos who were forced to watch a number of inept displays last season under the Russian, including a 1-0 capitualtion to Hibernian in the CIS cup.
