Hearts players have three more games this season to prove that want and deserve to be part of Jim Jefferies plans for the club. Jeffries considered Motherwell deserved their 2-0 win at Tynecastle as they applied themselves to the task in hand unlike many of his players. Motherwell were two goals to the good as the first half ended thanks to teenage defender Steven Saunders, who scrambled his first career goal following Stevie Hammell's corner, and John Sutton, who beat Marius Zaliukas to help home Tom Hateley's free-kick. Well created many more decent chances as they ended their four-match losing streak in style to boost their European hopes and all but end the home side's chances of an early start to the season in Europe. |
