Hearts v Hibs Preview

Last updated : 06 August 2007 By Scott The Jambo

Hearts preperations for tonight's Edinburgh derby have been hit by the news that Craig Gordon has played his last match for the club.

Gordon is in talks with Aston Villa and Sunderland and is expected to move to the Premiership before the transfer window closes.

At least FIVE Lithuanians have also kicked their last ball in maroon.

Andrius Velicka, Linus Pilibitis, Kitisus Ivaskevicious, Andrea Kurskis and Tomas Kanchelskis have all been told they have no future at the club.

Larry Kingston and Christophe Berra are suspended, and Roman Bednar, Mauricio Pinilla, and Bruno Aguiar are all injured.

That leaves the Jambos a little thin on the ground heading into tonight's match, where they hope to get off to a perfect start by despatching their bitter rivals in what is sure to be a feisty season opener.

Hearts will hope to start of in a similar vein to the last derby at Tynecastle, when Michal Pospisil opened the scoring for the Jambos after just 31 seconds.
