Hearts set to finalise Hleb transfer

Hearts look set to complete the transfer of Slava Hleb within the next couple of weeks on a 3 year contract.

The transfer is dependant on Hleb recieving a work permit, which should now be a formality having played over 75% of matches for Belarus this year.

The former Stuttgart and Hamburg man has alot to live up to, with his brother setting the heather alight at Arsenal, however his agent doesn't seem to think he'll have too many problems settling in. He said: "He is a very fast player, skilful with the ball, and technically he is of very good quality. Like Alex, he is very good with the ball and very fast running with the ball. He is good in offensive areas, dribbling past defenders at speed."

So, not much to live up to then!

He continued: "He is definitely more talented than Alex," said the agent. "I wouldn't say Hearts is his last chance because Slava is still a young player, but he realises this is a big chance. He is very focused on taking it and showing how good he is. He can show his ability. He believes he is definitely ready now"

Hearts fans will be hoping Hleb's arrival will be the second quality signing made by Vladimir Romanov this summer, and will be looking to the Lithuanian to add even more quality to the squad which laboured to a 4th place finish last season.
