Izale McLeod and Steven MacLean both trained with Hearts this month but neither has ended up at the cash-strapped club.

Asked on Friday morning if he expected to make a signing over the weekend, Laszlo said: "This is a question which I think I've got 2,500,083 times.

"I don't think that now in these two days something will happen.

"The club's had one month and nobody's come."

He added: "If somebody comes, it's a bonus.

"I've been here for 19 months and all the time the problem's been there."

Laszlo also maintained there had been no bid from Celtic for left-back Lee Wallace, amid reports the clubs had agreed a fee.

"I talked with my sport director and he told me he didn't have any information about this," he said.

And referring to rumours Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan was at Hearts' defeat against Aberdeen on Wednesday night to watch Wallace, he added: "I read my friend Gordon was here from Middlesbrough to watch him but I think he watched the game.

"We have two days to go and, in these two days, if somebody takes Lee Wallace, it's very bad for us.

"We don't have a replacement."

Laszlo believes if Wallace is allowed to leave, he must be able to draft somebody else in.

He admitted he had a name in mind, but added: "If it's in my head, it's not enough. The board decide."
