Now that the season is over, attentions will now be directed at our club’s off field activities. There will obviously be a lot of coming and going over the close season as clubs try to ease debts while at the same time try to get some freshness into the sides.

Hearts have today announced the release of four big name players who are also four of the highest earners at the club. Laryea Kingston, Jose Concalves, Christian Nade and ex captain Michael Stewart will all leave this summer.

Michael Stewart, 29, who has been with the Edinburgh club for three years and recently stripped of the club captaincy may be on the move to Turkey. I understand that he is currently in talks with Genclerbirligi in the Turkish Superleague.

Concalves, 24, who earlier rejected an offer of a new contract will be going as expected after Jeffries publicly stated that he would no longer pick the player for that reason.

Nade, 25, has not kicked a ball for the club since 10 April is now obviously excess to requirements.

Laryea Kingston, 29, who joined the Gorgie Road outfit in 2007 had featured regularly in the latter part of the season after recovering from injury had been hopeful of being offered a new contract.
