Hearts teen striker Callum Elliot was today named SPL young player of the month for December.

The 18 year old striker was given his chance in the 1st team when Roman Bednar got injured against Rangers back in November. Elliot grabbed the chance to partner Jankauskis up front and has accepted the award after a string of outstanding displays, capped off with a brace against Falkirk on Boxing Day.

Hearts head coach Graham Rix admits he has the utmost admiration for the lad, and awarded Elliot earlier in December with a 3 ½ year extention to his contract.
