Driving too hard

Andrew Driver will undergo a scan after suffering a thigh injury during the final stages of his recovery from knee surgery. The winger, who is yet to play for the first team this season following an operation in the summer, picked up the injury during a closed-doors game against St Johnstone on Tuesday. Jim Jefferies said: "He was just pushing himself hard to get back. The problem is a thigh strain and is nothing to do with the previous knee injury which had kept him out. It has set him back a wee bit. We're getting him scanned and we'll see how he is after the international break."

Marius Zaliukas also played in the 2-0 win as he builds up his fitness but whether Jefferies can play him against Rangers on Saturday could depend on the outcome of the latest talks over extending his contract beyond December. Jefferies went on: "He has been injured for a few weeks and has only recently been back in full training so it's important for him to work on his match fitness."
