Driver for Sweden?

ANDREW DRIVERWinger Andy Driver could be leaving Tynecastle for Sweden to undergo revolutionary treatment in an effort to rid of the persistent thigh complaint which bedevilled him last season. The Tynecastle medical team have been encouraged by Driver's recovery from a torn thigh muscle which looks as if he will be able to start pre-season training at Riccarton with the rest of the squad on 7 July. However, with the fear that he could suffer the same complaint again, Hearts are considering specialist treatment in Scandinavia to eradicate the problem completely. Other sportsmen and women have benefitted for the treatment which involves scraping the thigh tendon to remove defective collagen. The medics are still weighing up the options but the want to improve his stats regarding playing for the side.

Driver could only make 14 appearances last season with a return of just three goal, as his injury problems took their toll. He missed the final games of the season but he is still full of confidence that 7 July will see him back ready for pre-season. Driver has been watched as a possible signing for Gordon Strachan's Middlesbrough, However Hearts will be holding out for full market value if the interest turns to bids. However, it may be not until  the January transfer window fro anything to materialise Strachan will want to assess Driver's fitness before making any move.
