andrew driverWhile they are in South Africa, the FIFA executive committee are looking at the wording of the home nations agreement on eligibility to play for the national side . The text has been amended to include the term "five years' education up to the age of 18".  If the wording is ratified by the ruling body, the path would be free for Andy Driver to play for Scotland. The 22-year-old failed to meet the criteria under the original agreement as he fell short of the five years' schooling required. The change of the law will allow Driver to be available for selection by Craig Levein. As the four home nations have already agreed the change, it is expected that Fifa will pass it on the nod. .

If all goes well, and if Driver is fit, the Hearts man could be included in the Scotland squad for August's friendly against Sweden. Driver has already been part of the Scotland national side set up at schoolboy level after moving north at the age of 11. However he was also capped by England during last summer's European Under-21 Championship.
