It looks like Aberdeen's Zander Diamond and Kilmarnock's Jamie Hamill will be signing on at Tynecastle for the new season. Diamond 's Aberdeen contract is coming to an end which has increased the interest from manager Jim Jefferies. It is said that a deal is close to being agreed to clear the way for a move to Edinburgh under freedom of contract within the month.

Another free agent, Hamil is already talking to club officials but with Hibs and Aberdeen said to be on his trail, Hamill is likely to decide on his future within the next 48 hours. Jefferies knows the player well from the time they shared at Kilmarnock. All deals have to be agreed with owner Valdimir Romanov but his man on the spot, Hearts director Sergejus Fedotovas, expects new faces to be in place before the start of pre-season training on 22 June.  He said: "We're definitely looking to strengthen the squad in a number of key areas. It's good we have identified targets and negotiations are underway. In attack, midfield and defence, we're looking for fresh faces. We'll need to see how good we are, how lucky we are in terms of getting these players to Tynecastle, but I'm very confident we'll have a few more faces in the new season. I hope we'll have something organised before the team goes away in pre-season."
