The 18-year-old has exploded onto the first team this season, being an ever-present at right-back since making his debut in the UEFA Europa League play-off against Dinamo Zagreb at Tynecastle in August.

Last season Craig was named the Clydesdale Bank U19 Rising Star as voted by the U19 coaches from all SPL clubs and this term a series of impressive performances for the senior team have seen him awarded this latest accolade.

Craig lifted the award for September after playing in all three league matches last month, helping Hearts to victories over Kilmarnock and Hamilton in the process. He won the vote from a panel of Scottish football writers who chose Craig from a shortlist which included the top three fans' nominations from Clydesdale Bank's football website www.cbfootball.co.uk.

Football fans can vote for their Manager, Player and Young Player of the Month during the last week of each month, at www.cbfootball.co.uk. Each month one fan will be selected to win a prize.
