Competition for the number one position

Janos Balogh 1Janos Balogh is keen to make the number one shirt his own next season and has told  his agent, Alexander Szatmari, to ignore approaches from any other club as he is committed to Hearts. The 27-year-old is still under contract at Tynecastle and is determined to get back into the first team after recovering from a wrist injury which meant he missed the final weeks of the season. He was also out of action before Christmas last year which meant he fell down the pecking order and he only managed four first-team appearances since the New Year.

It will not be a stroll back into the number one position as Jamie MacDonald will offer stiff competition, as will Marian Kello provided he signs a new deal. Balogh's agent, said he would not be discussing the player's future with any interested parties as the keeper is fully committed to Hearts. Szatmari said: "
I have not spoken with anyone because Janos was injured recently and he wants to be the number one goalkeeper for Hearts again. This is his main focus and I hope he becomes fit again soon to challenge for his place."
