Hearts fans have a chance to buy a piece of centenary history if they get their skates on by 5 December. Hearts played Spurs, at Tynecastle, in a pre season friendly on 3 August 1974, which ended in a 1-1 draw. As a memento of the occasion Hearts presented Tottenham Hotspur with a large and impressive silver plated punchbowl. The bowl is now up for auction so can be bought by the highest bidder.

Here is how auctioneers Knights describe the bowl, which is lot 1148: "Presented to Tottenham Hotspur by Heart of Midlothian Football Club in 1974. The punchbowl with floral decoration to side and rim is 9" tall with a diameter of 14.5" has a central cartouche which is engraved 'Presented by Heart of Midlothian F.C. in their Centenary Year to Tottenham Hotspur F.C. 3rd August 1974'. Some bumping/stratching to sides, rust spots and discolouration to inside. Base inscription reads 'Mounts stamped from the original Boulton & Watt Dies circa 1774. Reproduction of Olde English Plate. Hand chased". Their estimate is that the bowkl will sell fo around: £250/350

How about that for a Christmas present? You can bid online and save all that travelling.
