Romanov - A saviour or a gangster?

Lithuanian businessman Vladimir Romanov is a man who claims to be wanting to take a controlling interest in Hearts. This has been greeted with a degree of caution on all sides of the Hearts support. The majority of fans want someone with a bit of financial clout to stabilise the club, and would welcome Mr Romanov with open arms.

But. The aforementioned businessman has got a bit of a background where footballing matters are concerned. Last season he tried unsucessfully to take over at Dunfermline Athletic, and also Dundee. The reasons for the unsucessful attempts were the fact that Dunfermline and Dundee thought they were being picked on due to their financial position.

In my view, I think Chris Robinson should give in to the pressure and sell his controlling interest to Mr Romanov. Mr Robinson has done nothing at all in recent years to endear himself to the Hearts support, and has caused outrage with the bulk of the Tynecastle support, and the sale of our spiritual ground was the last straw in some peoples minds.

From What I read in the press over the past couple of weeks, Mr Romanov wants to use Scottish football team to blood young and upcoming Lithuanian players. Surely this is not too much to ask in return for financial stability is it? Although some may argue that this will mean Mr Romanov picking the team...

To all those doubters out there - Remember back in the late 80's when a certain Mr David Murray tried unsucessfully to buy over Ayr United? I bet a lot of the doubters were kicking themselves when he changed his mind and bought Rangers and proceeded to win 9 League titles on the trot!
