Will Andy Driver rival fans mad?

Turncoat. Judas. Traitor. You can almost hear the taunts now that will rain down on Andy Driver as he tears up the wing for Hearts next season, a player who many will believe has turned his back on Scotland to play for England.

Let's hope that in this day and age Scottish football fans appreciate the talents and achievements in a footballer playing in the Under 21 Championship. Rubbing his shoulders with the big boys, Driver didn't look out of place against Germany and has certainly forced his way into manager Stuart Pearce's plans for the rest of the tournament. And his long-term ambitions lie with the full squad now that he's tasted what it's like to play for The Three Lions.

Gordon Smith still claims he wants Driver to turn out for Scotland later on in his career, exploiting a rule that would allow Andy to play for us because he went to school here. It's unlikely Driver will change his mind and who can blame him? He's got a chance to turn out for one of the best countries in the world.

Let's hope people don't give him a hard time.
