Whatever happened to LIVE webcasts?

Back in April last year Hearts announced that all SPL matches, home and away would be shown live on the internet. This was a world first and an American company called SCN were to provide the transmissions and two games against the OF were shown. Four months later and still no pictures, we were told by Hearts that everything was ready and SCN even published a schedule of forthcoming games.

Hearts fans paid to watch from around the world and received one half-baked transmission followed by excuse after excuse from SCN that they were having technical problems. Those who had paid up were disappointed and promised refunds or credits .. until here we are in 2005 and SCN have disappeared completely off the map.

During this time Hearts have remained tight-lipped about webstreaming .. obviously embarrassed. Dunfermline, Hibs, Aberdeen, Motherwell, Livi and Dundee have all been shown live on the internet by an Edinburgh based organisation, (www.sports-view.net) who would dearly love to provide a service for Hearts but are making little progress with Kenny Whittman.

Meanwhile, Hearts fans around the world are being left to hope that the opposing team are showing the game .. the problem with that is Hearts make no money as it all goes to the other team who have signed up.

Surely it's time this was sorted out!!
