West coast media showing signs of cracking?

The West-coast media are beginning to show signs of backtracking with their vendetta against Vladimir Romanov and his revolution. Reporters and journalists alike are beginning to show signs of weakness as the Hearts owner shells out on top European class players. Players like Rudi Scakel, Julijan Brellier, Takis Fyssas and the likes are all plying their trade on the Gorgie turf, and after a terrific start to the 2005/06 campaign, The media are beginning to sit up and take notice. Take BBC pundit Chick young for example. A few weeks ago, he was quoted to say “If Mr Romanov thinks he can split or jump the old firm, I’ll be well past my lifetime, and a few others”. Then Mr Charlie Nicholas, who NEVER has a decent word to say about Hearts, was quoted in saying “Hearts are a team of dreamers if they think they will get anywhere near the big 2”.

What a difference a couple of weeks can make! Today in Mr Nicholas’s newspaper column, he said "The club's owner seems to have realized it's best to leave footballing decisions to the manager.
If it stays that way, Hearts could well be in for a rewarding campaign and even compete with the old firm.”

Young

Chick Young yesterday in his BBC website column said “There are

two emotions at work here. First it is my belief that the club, despite some impressive signings, still don't have what it takes to split, never mind leapfrog the Old Firm.

However there is then the absolute delight if they did.

Sure it would Chick!!

If the unthinkable happens (from their point of view), then please let me be the bearer of the biggest slice of humble pie on earth, and present it to the two aforementioned illiterates.

Nothing would delight me more than to see the faces of the ‘weejie meejia’ with all their excuses and stories of how Rangers and Celtic can only blame themselves for an east coast’s team’s fortunate challenge!

BRING IT ON!
