Nevio Scala - The facts

  • Nevio Scala began his managerial career with Italian side Vicenza before taking over the reigns at Reggiana.



  • Scala's big break however, came when he took over the reigns at Parma from Arrigo Saachi in 1989. His first season, Scala led Parma into the Countries serie a.



  • Parma started to dominate Italian football, and won the Italian cup back in 1992, and then the European cup winners cup the following season, , the European super cup in 1994, and the UEFA cup in 1995.



  • Scala left Parma in 1996, and managed a short spell with Perugia before moving to Germany to manage Dorrusia Dortmund. There, he won the world club championship and the German supercup to his ever-increasingly glowing C.V.



  • After he done his bit in Germany, he left to join Turkish giants Bestikas and took them into the champions league.



  • He then moved on again, this time to Shaktar Donetsk to their first ever Ukranian league title, but things turned sour, and three months later he left for the capital, and Spartak Moscow was the next on his agenda. However, he was sacked 10 months ago, and has been out of football since.
